Was it a dream…a fairytale? It certainly felt dreamy wandering around the quaint streets, twinkling waters and manicured gardens with a freshly married Lorenza and Roy joyfully showing me their favourite spots. The happy couple married in Germany before driving to Salzburg, the location for their mountain ceremony which took place the following day with many friends and family.
It’s ridiculously easy to see why Lorenza and Roy fell in love with the city and fell for each other too. The place oozes charm and romance with it’s stunning baroque architecture. They joke, “if it’s baroque, don’t fix it” and Salzburg complete with it’s storybook Old Town hasn’t changed much since Mozart lived here 250 years ago. The formidable cliff top fortress looking down on the city is truly breathtaking.
Lorenza wore soft hued traditional dress and flowers in her hair while Roy looked dapper in his suit. We walzed through the Mirabell Gardens before crossing over the river to visit a special cafe, a very special spot indeed being the place they met and became engaged. I couldn’t help feeling a little emotional! Maybe it was the streets where classical music wafted through the air or the pretty floral window boxes, the balmy sunshine too but it was emotionally overwhelming and and an honour to visit this cute little cafe nestled at the base of a cliff. We continued our adventure snapping moments along the way against a magical backdrop of graceful domes and spires.
Our adventure came to a close significantly with the backdrop of the magnificent mountain that would soon become host to Lorenza and Roy’s celebrations peering down at us way below at street level.
Salzburg you have won my heart too, I can’t wait to visit again to photograph a winter wedding. The magic continues….❤️
